Fyrsta Covid-19 smitið hefur nú verið staðfest hjá nemanda í 10. bekk Kópavogsskóla. Hjúkrunarfræðingur hefur kynnt sér það mál og fengið fullvissu um að þar hefur allt verið unnið samkvæmt verkferlum og viðkomandi heimili fylgir ráðleggingum heilbrigðisyfirvalda. Smitið hefur átt sér stað nokkrum dögum eftir að verkfall hófst og því ekki talið að viðkomandi hafi náð að smita aðra nemendur í skólanum. Foreldrar þurfa þó að vera vakandi gagnvart öllum einkennum hjá fjölskyldumeðlimum.

Sú mikla fjölgun staðfestra smita sem hefur átt sér stað undanfarna daga hefur í för með sér að það þarf að breyta áður útgefnu námsskipulagi fyrir nemendur í 1.-4. bekk. Að öllu óbreyttu verðu það kynnt á mánudaginn. The first Covid-19 infection has now been confirmed by a student in grade 10 of Kópavogsskóli. The school nurse has talked to the family and has been assured that everything has been worked out according to work procedures and the family follows the advice of the health authorities. The infection has occurred a few days after the strike began and therefore it is believed that the student has not managed to infect other students in the school. However, parents need to be alert to all symptoms of their family members. We also have to reconsider the schedule for Frístund with special attention to the needs of parents who are in priority groups because of the virus.

The increase in confirmed infections that has occurred in recent days means that it is necessary to change the previously issued educational plan for students in grades 1.-4. Hopefully we can announce it on Monday.

There is still no solution in the Efling strike and therefore it is not possible to predict when the school will start again. Teachers will continue to guide students through teleconferencing and e-media and it is important to repeat to parents the importance of creating a timetable for the children and their home studies.
